Polarize Her Desire: Techniques for Men to Build Sexual Energy

Your wife’s primal sexual passions are activated when you polarize her desire. And the level of pleasure you can experience with her is proportional to the level of uncomfortable feelings you can face. This article is about how to polarize her desire by holding still under emotional tension (even when it feels uncomfortable).

Polarizing Her Desire: Techniques for Men to Build Sexual Energy

Polarize Her Desire At The Right Time

Your relationship is like a garden.

Trying to sprout beans in the dead of winter is a fool’s run.

If your wife is asking for space, this is the wrong time to apply the advice you’re about to read.

Go read my post, “How To Give Your Wife Space Without Losing Her” to get clear on what you can do instead.

If your relationship is in the daily grind, feels mundane, or needs a jump-start, keep reading!

Playful Tension Will Polarize Her Desire

    Men are attracted to beauty.

Women are attracted to strong safety.

It’s not your ability to beat up bad guys or wrestle tigers that I’m talking about.

When I say, “strong safety,” I’m talking about how you handle emotions.

    • When you’re direct instead of beating around the bush, your woman knows you can handle someone’s verbal assaults on her
    • When you step up and sort the schedule, decide where to eat, and have a plan for the day, she feels like she can trust you to take the wheel when she needs a break
    • When she sees you can stay present even when she’s being emotional, she knows you can control your impulses (which builds trust)
    • When you listen to her accusations without getting defensive, she knows you don’t just care about yourself, you care about her too

Holding strong under emotional tension will polarize her desire towards you.

This means FACING the conversations, the conflicts, and the emotional messiness of relationships, not avoiding it.

And sometimes she just needs your humor to guide her out of her complicated world of overanalysis and feelings.

There can be no sense of erotic play without the energy of tension!

One thing to notice is when you “leak” energy instead of letting it build.

    Bouncing your leg releases energy.

So does talking fast, looking away, or laughing.

I’m not saying you should never laugh, but notice when you laugh because something is funny vs trying to deflect energy.

Letting energy build between you and your partner makes her skin tingle.

Get playful with that energy, and it increases her sexual pull towards you.

Leaking energy communicates that you can’t handle her and won’t polarize her desire.

A woman will struggle to let herself go in the bedroom with a man she feels can’t handle her.

How I Failed & Succeeded At Building Playful Tension

As I’m typing this, I’m on a plane.

An old man just walked down the aisle towards me.

He noticed my blanket had fallen into the aisle.

With a very somber face, he picked it up and placed it on the seat next to me.

His frustration was thick in the air, so I laughed and said, “Oops!”

The old man glared back, unimpressed.

Here’s why my laugh was unnecessary: I was chuckling because I was uncomfortable with his sour emotion.

Other people’s emotions are not mine to manage!

He can have his sour emotion; it’s not my job to deal with that for him.

So hey, I’m a recovering nice guy just like you.

The nice guy goes through his day trying to smooth out the emotional tension that other people create.

Even though that story was an example of what NOT to do when allowing tension to build, I do have success stories too 🙂

The other day, I was on a date with an attractive woman.

    She talked…A LOT.

One thing I’ve learned about women is that they only talk a lot to people they like, so I took it as a compliment.

    So I..

    • Stayed present
    • Held eye contact
    • Teased her a little and felt the tension building between us
    • Held the tension
    • Didn’t laugh it away, bounce my leg, or change the topic
    • I stayed present and let the tension build between us

In fact, I slowed down and stayed facing her, letting her be the first to break eye contact.

Holding energy like this is porn to women.

I watched it polarize her desire for me.

You could cut the sexual tension between us with a knife.

A few hours later, we were at her place, making hot love in the bedroom.

Women crave to let go! To expand. To be taken.

Her body can’t do that if she senses your energy is nervous, flighty, or needy.

It takes inner confidence to sit with tension.

She’s turned on by the emotional strength it takes to hold tension.

Two Ways To Hold Tension That Builds Sexual Desire

    1. Breathe into your balls to relax.

    2. Develop the mindset of a confident man.

Breath work can be as simple as pulling your stomach out when you inhale.

I like to picture that I’m inflating my balls when I inhale.

This kind of deep breathing grounds and relaxes our bodies.

Any time we have constriction in our body, we’re blocking our energy flow.

Masculine energy is open, relaxed, and broad.

It should feel unopoligetic, but present and tuned into the moment.

That undistracted presence is what polarizes her desire for intimacy.

Masculinity coaches G.S Youngblood and Doctor Greg Wells both teach how daily breathwork can increase your resilience to stress and regulate your nervous system.

Make breathing your #1 priority when feeling tension or anxiety building between you and your partner.

Don’t try to figure out what to say to her, just keep facing her while taking deep breaths.

Let your silence build positive tension.

Breathing is always in the PRESENT.

Being in the NOW displays that you can stop to open your heart, even though everything else in life is calling for your attention.

Developing the mindset of a confident man is more of a process.

Most of what’s taught to us in movies and culture leads us to think others are making us feel how we feel.

A confident man understands what he feels is his own creation based on his current perspective.

Your power is that you can choose a new perspective when your feelings get buzzing.

In my story above, I could have thought, “Why won’t this woman shut up? She’s been talking for a solid hour!!”

Or, I could decide to think, “Women talk to guys they like. This is a compliment.”

    Same situation.

    Different mindset.

The Next Step To Polarizing Her Desire

This article is just the tip of the iceberg.

I teach men a whole lot more when I take them through my private coaching program.

Re-wiring your brain requires a serious commitment to change.

Polarizing her desire is a natural byproduct of healthy self-esteem, grounded energy, and confident behaviors.

I’m ready to meet your level of commitment.

  • A Husband Who Died Happy: True Story!

A Husband Who Died Happy: True Story!

I was blessed to meet a man a few weeks ago who was a husband who died happy. His passing came as a shock. Neither of us had any clue his end was so near. When grieving the loss of something you love, it can feel like there’s only one cure: get back what you lost! Especially when it comes to relationships, we can get fixated on what seems like it would take our pain away. Let’s look at some key mindsets this man lived by to maintain happiness right to the end.

True Story: The Mindset Of A Man Who Lived Happy Right to The End

    Life Is About Endings

Every relationship, house, car, pet, experience, and person in our lives has an expiration date.

The catch is, we don’t know the dates when these things will expire.

Sometimes these expirations come from death, sometimes it’s the natural progression of what we loved moving along.

A few weeks ago, I met a man who was keenly aware of his mortality.

Rather than being urgent and complaining, though, he had a presence about him that stood out.

    This man savored each moment!

He genuinely wanted to enjoy whatever unfolded wherever he was.

I noticed he looked forward to what was next.

His zeal for life was largely due to a scuba diving accident he survived a few years ago.

He had drowned and was resuscitated back to life!

The underwater accident left him with a renewed appreciation for living.

Being A Man Who Enjoys The Now

My evening with my new friend progressed into a steak dinner he had prepared.

Soon, he brought out an old bottle of wine.

“This is the last bottle of my favorite wine!” He said as he pulled the cork.

He went on to say, “The vineyard discontinued this line, so I can’t get any more.”

    I challenged his choice.

“Are you sure you want to open it up right now??” I replied, feeling a bit of shame for partaking in something so scarce.

“Now’s a great time,” he laughed as he filled my glass.

We continued to talk about mountains, trucks, snow plows, and travel.

An hour earlier, we had been total strangers.

I was surprised at how many similarities we had!

We talked about the experiences we wanted to create this summer.

His next experience was to go to Mexico and escape the snow for a few weeks.

Dinner ended, and we parted ways.

I just discovered he did go to Mexico and died in his sleep while there.

He was a fireman, an outdoorsman, a traveler, and a husband who died happy.

I wanted to share his story to pay him respect.

The Mindset Of A Husband Who Died Happy

In three generations, nobody will know your name.

Nobody will know what others thought of you.

Nobody will care how scared you were or how safe you played life.

    It all ends.

So why do you (and I) care so much now??

    That’s the challenge…

To have a mindset of self-trust and live life on our terms, no matter what others think of us.

I’ll never forget the shift in my thinking after reading the article, “The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck” By New York Times best seller, Mark Manson.

The picture towards the top of his article shows a guy floating away on balloons in the face of onlookers.

The caption says, “Everyone Just Wants To Be Liked And Accepted… Except for Tim…Tim Doesn’t Give A F*ck.”

My friend was a husband who died happy, even though his wife wasn’t perfect.

She had moods, doubts, and would neg.

    But he didn’t give a f*ck.

Two Distinct Traits Of A Husband Who Died Happy

    1. He showed up to each daily experience like it was his last, seeing himself as fortunate since he had woken up that day!

    2. He looked forward. This man spoke like he had 30 more years to go! He talked about property he would buy, trails he would explore, and places he would see.

Right now, you’re creating tomorrow’s memories.

Letting go of what’s ended is necessary to keep creating happiness right to the end.

This means no longer chasing your walkway wife or trying to force connection when it isn’t wanted.

You’re only on this blob of dirt for a few years, and then you’re gone.

Nobody owes you anything (not even your wife!).

A life of regret or happiness isn’t created by what others are doing, it’s created by how you decide to respond.

    Take that trip.

    Speak your truth.

    Love those you love.

Be who you would be if this were your last day to live.

How To Change Your Thinking So You Can Be A Husband Who Dies Happy

In my coaching, I take guys through a transformation to confidence.

Emerging from my Masculine Confidence Framework, you become ok when relationships expire and seasons in life change.

The man I met was a husband who died happy in spite of hardship.

He could simply enjoy the moment.

That’s what I want for you.

  • The Consequences of Being a ‘Yes’ Man in Marriage

The Consequences of Being a ‘Yes’ Man in Marriage

There are consequences to being a ‘yes’ man to avoid conflict with your wife. There are consequences to being a ‘no’ man, too. I’ll show you what the middle ground looks like that your marriage needs to succeed.

The Consequences of Being a ‘Yes’ Man in Marriage

Shallow Connection: One Of The Consequences Of Being A ‘Yes’ Man

When you constantly agree with your spouse, YOUR feelings get neglected.

When you neglect your own feelings and desires, you’re robbing your relationship of authenticity.

    Want real love?

    Real connection?

    Real intimacy?

Then you have to be real.

I know what you’re thinking, “It always blows up if I don’t agree with her!”

    Here’s my response: So what?

The consequences of being a ‘yes’ don’t appear until way down the road.

A deep connection in marriage is lost.

    So is deep intimacy.

Trust is the foundation for a deeper connection with your partner.

When you always agree with her, she can’t trust you.

And, let’s be real, constantly saying “yes” brews some major resentment on our part too.

When you don’t express your honest perspectives and are not willing to put your foot down in the name of courage, you come off as weak and fake to your partner.

This chips away at the trust and love in your relationship, making it harder to repair.

In her interview on 60 Minutes, best-selling author and shame researcher Brene Brown points something out. She says when we start going with the flow, we destroy the ability for there to be creativity, connection, and leadership.

The result is a stale marriage.

It’s one of the consequences of being a ‘yes’ man.

And I don’t want you to live in dry relationship like that.

The Consequences of Being a ‘Yes’ Man Is Two-Fold

By being true to yourself and communicating openly with your wife, you show her that you respect and value her.

You don’t have to disagree with your wife to not be a ‘Yes” man.

It means you don’t NEED her to agree with you.

    See the difference?

    But here’s a warning!

Before you unload Pandora’s box of how you feel with your partner, understand this: If you’re coming from a place of desperation, neediness, or lack of happiness, the timing is all wrong.

It’s also bad timing when your wife is “wanting space” or “loves you but isn’t in love with you”.

Her need for space can be one of the consequences of being a ‘yes’ man.

She wants to relax with someone who has a spine, not someone who always caters to her.

When she needs space, that’s not a time to open up to her; it’s a time to open up to yourself.

Clarify who you are, where you’re going, and why that matters for your own sake.

Speaking your truth from a place of inner security leads to a deeper level of relationship when your wife is all in.

On the other hand, speaking your truth out of FEAR or insecurity when she pulls back drives a wedge between you.

How To Have The Spine She Needs

If you don’t want the consequences of being a ‘yes’ man in your marriage, prioritize honesty and authenticity while taking responsibility to calm your fears and insecurities.

This ensures that your relationship stays strong, based on trust and mutual respect.

If right now your marriage is in limbo, reach out.

I’ve helped many men get their relationship back to where vulnerability and deeper connection thrive.

Guys: How To Spot What Needs Improvement In Your Relationship

Listen To Your Body When Your Wife Annoys You

    A drop in your gut…

    A tightness in your chest…

The hair on your neck bristling…

The unconscious husband misses these cues.

He’s so caught up in REACTING that he doesn’t even notice his fists are clenched.

With practice, you direct your focus to your body when your wife annoys you.

Instead of trying to think out how to answer, you can use the cues in your body.

A tight chest means take a deep breath.

A clenched fist means relax your hands and shake them out.

You see, what your wife needs most in this moment isn’t your brilliant answer or justifications.

She needs to feel your love in ONE form: PRESENCE.

Presence is fully tuned into what your body is doing.

It’s fully tuned into what her body is doing.

You’re not getting sucked into the conversation or adding to the drama.

“But she’s making me angry!” You might say.

Yes, when your wife annoys you, it can piss you off or make you want to retreat.

But she’s not doing this to you; your thoughts and feelings are doing this to you.

It’s not your wife’s job to adjust herself around YOUR triggers because they are YOURS.

If everyone on the planet danced around the triggers of the most insecure person, it would be a race to the bottom.

    You can raise the bar.

Feel your body, not your raging thoughts.

Your neck might be getting tense, or your face might be getting tight.

    Relax it.

    That’s your only job.

The Hidden Gift When Your Wife Annoys You

The purpose of masculinity is to pioneer uncertainty… to create something new in the face of chaos.

A friend of mine categorized all his anxious feelings as his “frizzle”.

“Frizzle” always means one thing: the opportunity to create something NEW

What did Columbus feel before sailing for the New World? Frizzle.

Before Lewis and Clark embarked on exploring the new Far West, they felt Frizzle.

When Neal Armstrong crawled into a rocket to pioneer the moon exploration, he experienced Frizzle.

Your relationship has “new” areas to penetrate with your calm, brave, courageous self-confidence.

The hidden gift is you have no clue where you need to grow until your wife annoys you.

NEW areas in your relationship are trying to evolve through Frizzle.

Frizzle doesn’t inform you what needs to change in your wife.

It informs you where a NEW frontier in your relationship is calling for your courage and presence.

How To Be A More Secure Man

Not sure how to be the stable masculine energy in your relationship who doesn’t need validating by outside factors?

    I didn’t know how either.

Then another man taught me the ropes.

All I can say is WOW!

There is a whole new level of relationship with your wife that you are missing out on.

I want you to have a BETTER relationship, MORE intimacy, and STRONGER self-esteem.

Do you want that for yourself too?

Sexless Marriage – 4 Signs She Won’t Change

If you’ve been in a sexless marriage for a few months, you probably feel tremendous frustration. If it’s been years since you last made love with your wife, you probably feel like a used rag flushed down the toilet. Trying to explain to your wife the importance of sex only makes her shut down. There is a new way to approach sexless marriage to give it the best chance for success. But there are also 4 signs that she won’t change.

    YouTube player
Sexless Marriage – 4 Signs She Won’t Change

What A Sexless Marriage Does To A Man

A man who is not engaging in physical intimacy loses a part of his heart.

Over time, his heart gets harder and harder.

He’ll have less patience, less concern for others, and less empathy.

Even the most stone-cold, brutal man can be melted by a loving woman’s touch.

    It’s like magic.

Her affection draws out his care and desire to emotionally connect.

It’s easy to blame your wife for how you feel.

Without sex, your wife’s presence will feel annoying.

Like she’s a vacuum to your energy.

The almost cruel irony is that women don’t feel a desire for sexual intimacy with a man who is annoyed by her!

Welcome to the sexless marriage, where a standoff occurs, each waiting for the other to give them what they need.

Women are often the first to give in.

She’ll compromise by having “obligation sex”.

Obligation sex isn’t the satisfying, intimate sex the man wants, so the problem only worsens.

She blames him for not being deeply connected to her, and he blames her for not being sexually passionate.

She grows to resent herself for engaging in obligation sex, and takes that off the table too.

How To Bring Passion Back To A Sexless Marriage

The man has to go first to bring passion back to a sexless marriage.

He has to behave with the same empathy, care, and love he would naturally give if he was getting sex.

Why does the man have to go first?

    Because masculine is a leader.

    Leaders go first.

But let’s say you’ve already become this man.

You are offering emotional connection, safety, and trust in the relationship with no strings attached.

Here are 4 signs she won’t change:

    1. Despite being non-defensive about your intentions, she’s constantly criticizing them

    2. Even though you’ve been showing her appreciation, she’s full of contempt and holds you in low regard

    3. You’re taking responsibility for your wrongs, but she is always defensive and blames you for how she feels

    4. You’ve learned how to manage your reactions and set a calm, safe tone, but she still stone-walls and gives the silent treatment.

I didn’t make these 4 signs up to know if your sexless marriage is doomed.

The Gottman Research Institution calls these 4 signs, “The 4 Horsman,” signifying the end of a marriage.

You cannot talk your way out of something you behaved yourself into.

    • Non-defensiveness
    • Responsiveness
    • Emotional calm
    • High regard for her struggles

Those are all ATTITUDES, not declarations or conversations.

You’ll never know if you gave your sexless marriage its best shot to thrive until you master these behaviors.

Don’t expect the “new you” to immediately make her want to have sex with you.

    These things take time.

Your marriage lost it’s sexual polarity slowly; it can only come back slowly.

A rough rule of thumb for marriage recovery is at least one month for each year you’ve been together.

After that, if she’s still exhibiting the 4 signs above, she may never change.

Sexual affection is a fragile thing in the female world.

Keep in mind, there are also hormonal and physical issues your wife may be struggling with.

Read my post on peri-menopause as an example.

The “success gauge” to focus on is this: Are you showing up as the man you want to be, and have you been doing it for an extended period of time despite being in a sexless marriage?

If You’re In A Sexless Marriage, Do This Next

What it means to be “masculine” in relationships is very blurred in our Western society.

Getting crystal clear on the kind of man you need to be in your relationship is essential to knowing if you gave your marriage the best chance for survival.

The only time a man can make permanent growth in his confidence and self-reliance to happiness is during a season of zero feminine support.

A sexless marriage is painful, but you can use this time to your advantage.

  • Why She Says, “Stop Trying To Fix Me”

Why She Says, “Stop Trying To Fix Me”

How many times has your wife said, “stop trying to fix me,” and you weren’t even trying to fix her? Every man experiences this. It can be so confusing! I’ll break down what’s happening. It really boils down to how men and women process emotions differently.

    YouTube player
Why She Says “Stop Trying To Fix Me” (Even Though You’re Not)

Your Wife Says, “Stop Trying To Fix Me” When She Needs Your Presence

Men have one emotional goal: To feel free from emotions.

For us, freedom from emotions equals peace and happiness.

Men and women feel the same emotions.

But for the guy, our immediate instinct is to figure out how to make uncomfortable feelings go away.

Our male brain searches for the shortest path back to happiness, and then we feel an undeniable urge to take that path.

Think of it like stepping outside and realizing it’s cold.

Feeling cold makes you miserable, so you put a coat on.

    Problem fixed!

You’re free from feeling miserable, so now you’re happy again.

But for women, their happiness comes from swimming around in a range of feelings.

    It makes her feel ALIVE.

Just listen in on a group of ladies having coffee sometime.

Nothing is solved; only feelings are shared.

And I’ve never heard a lady say to another lady, “Stop trying to fix me”.

She finds it more meaningful to talk about the FEELING than the problem.

A present man sets the “problem” aside in his mind.

    He tunes into his feelings.

    He tunes into her feelings.

Without trying to change them, he offers presence and empathy.

Your Wife Wants To Feel An Emotional Range

Feminine craves to feel the “swoosh” of going from down to up…This means she first has to go down.. and possibly sideways… then possibly down some more… then do a hard left.. then go back up…(maybe).

But “up” for her isn’t always to a feeling of happiness.

She might want to feel the “up” of voicing how cold she feels until every fiber of her body (and all bystanders) are fully engrossed in the magnitude of the cold she’s experiencing.

The “experience” of being cold might be all she wants to process for the moment.

If you try to change that feeling, she’ll probably say, “Stop trying to fix me”.

You coming along and offering your answer to her problem is just a slap to her face.

She lives in a constant world of feelings.

    Feelings are her identity.

You make her feel broken when you try to explain how her feelings could be different.

Just look at the movies women love.

There’s death, birth, heartbreak, scandal, and happy-ever-after all in the same film.

Your wife wants to feel it ALL.

How To NOT Fix Her When She Says, “Stop Trying To Fix Me”

Here’s a real-life example that will make your wife say, “Stop trying to fix me”.

Let’s say she wears high heels every weekend.

She comes home complaining of a blister on her toe every Sunday.

Your male brain starts to analyze the problem.

So you tell her, “Wear some different shoes next time“.

    Wrong answer!

She’ll find more meaning in talking about how bad blisters hurt versus actually changing her shoes.

“Ya blisters suck”, is the only thing she’s craving to hear from you.

Here is the skill to learn: Be comfortable sitting with uncomfortable feelings.

On the off chance she says, “I keep getting blisters, what do you think I should do?” then, by all means, dish out exactly what will fix the problem for her!

If she doesn’t ask, keep the secret sauce to yourself.

The way women are wired is what it is.

When she says, “stop trying to fix me,” she’s really saying, “Please understand how I feel, nothing else”.

So long as we find ourselves attracted to these sexy creatures from Venus, acceptance is our only choice.

Keep in mind how we men are wired seems just as strange to HER, so the trade-off is equal.

How To Be A Man She Feels Safe Enough To Open Up To

If you only listen to the “problem” every time your wife opens up, she’ll eventually stop sharing.

She’ll say, “Stop trying to fix me,” when you try to have a conversation.

At the same time, you don’t have to sit through every single feeling your wife throws at you.

There are limits to what you allow yourself to endure.

Suffering to make a woman happy is self-abuse.

There’s a BIG difference between a woman spewing through her emotion with you, vs at you.

There are millions of people she can direct her cannon at, and the guy who gets her naked and gives her orgasms doesn’t need to be one of them.

In fact, allowing her to take an immature tone with you in the name of “venting” might be why she’s no longer letting you get her naked.

A self-respecting man sets the tone for the relationship by having clear limits on how he’s spoken to.

    It’s called having boundaries.

Without boundaries, your wife will struggle to respect you.

Your boundaries are not meant to protect how you feel.

They are meant to protect what you VALUE.

I help men do this every day.

    • EROS: Romantic, sexual love
    • AGAPE: Caring love
    • PHILEO: Family bonding love

The world is filled with honest, good-intending, devoted, loving men who care deeply for their partner.

Men are straight shooters when it comes to love.

Either we always had a “thing” for a specific woman, or we didn’t.

Once a girl wins our heart, our love is permanent.

Just like our preference for the shirt we liked 10 years ago.

In my experience, something binds inside us guys when we “fall in love” with a woman.

Our eros & agape literally fuse together.

That means our romantic love and our caring love for her transcend life’s circumstances.

All of us men know what it’s like to care deeply for a woman and feel our primal urge to protect, care, provide, and give pleasure even if she doesn’t give two hoots about us.

It’s a kind of love that doesn’t even need to be reciprocated by her.

A Man’s Love Rarely Stops When She Doesn’t Love Him Back

Masculine love becomes unconditional towards a woman once eros and agape fuse together.

Even if our partner becomes the devil, rejects us, or has an affair, we still care for her on a primal level.

We don’t like what she’s doing, we prefer she change, but we still love her.

I know in my life, I can look back and still feel caring, romantic love for all the women I’ve fallen in love with (even if they never loved me in return).

Once Eros and Agape bind in us towards a woman, we can end up tolerating very toxic or unhealthy behaviors from her unless we have clear standards around what kinds of people we allow into our lives.

For this reason, it’s imperative to have clear boundaries around who we commit to regardless of how we feel.

    Female Love Is Different Software

I don’t think eros and agape bind in a woman.

She feels them independently, one from the other.

This is my personal observation at least.

Women seem to have a binding of agape and philo which manifests as her mothering instincts for her family.

One could argue when a woman falls for a man, it’s more intense than we experience it.

But a woman’s eros (sexual) love for a man is fragile.

Eros, the erotic love, is based on how she feels RIGHT NOW.

    It comes and goes.

What doesn’t come and go for her is the family bonding and caring love.

Even when a wife divorces her husband, she still feels bonded to him.

But the sexual attraction is long gone.

    And you?

You’ll still get turned on by her.

When a woman loses her eros (sexual) love for her partner, she’s out.

Are you starting to see why good women leave good men?

The husband and wife are not bad people, but they need to feel all 3 versions of love.

And each has a different idea of what those versions are.

Good Women Leave Good Men When They Lose Erotic Love

Why do women lose erotic love?

It’s not because you’re ugly or because you snore.

Her erotic love is a result of feeling like you understand and can handle her emotions.

This is the polar opposite of men.

Men feel erotic love based on how beautiful she is (inside and out).

When your wife says, “I love you, but I’m not in love with you,” she is saying feelings of eros (erotic) love are gone for her.

That’s why good women leave good men.

Her closed-off body is a physical representation of how her heart feels in the relationship.

This is really frustrating for us guys.

    It feels like an injustice.

We thought getting married brought some kind of permanency to love.

The truth is, her love for us was always fragile

In her article, “The Initiation of Relationship Anxiety,” explains what a woman is grappling with when she wants to end the relationship.

Your wife or girlfriend is experiencing the same instinct to RUN as we would if faced with a feral lion.

These are HER fears, HER wounds, and HER path to walk as an evolving person.

A woman is faithful to one thing: her feelings.

With this information, our male brains want to know ONE thing: WHY.

    WHY did her feelings change?

Why can’t she feel sexual desire for me?

But this is the wrong question to ask.

Instead, ask yourself WHAT you will do next.

Trying to change your wife’s “why” has a 100% failure rate.

    It’s like chasing a shadow…

Why do we like one fruit and not another?

Why do we prefer coffee with cream or without?

There is no reasoning behind these desires; they just are.

Don’t let this fact depress you.

Since she’s in a constant state of change, she can change back to loving you again.

Ironically, we men have a similar complex that prevents us from committing to “good women”.

For guys, we’ll choose the pretty girl over the hideous girl every time (even if the hideous girl would have been a way better partner).

The pretty girl “awakens” a care in us we don’t otherwise experience through Eros.

Loving her body isn’t enough in a long-term relationship.

That’s another reason why good women leave good men – eros love alone feels too shallow for her.

Both men and women are equally irrational when it comes to erotic love.

Both chase a version that is more a fairytale than reality.

But it’s still a necessity, and can’t be minimized.

How To Build Erotic Love With Your Wife

If you love a woman and she’s not on board with reciprocating your love, then you need to show self-respect and let her go.

    Yup, you’ll still love her.

    You’ll still find her attractive.

But erotic love is not built by chasing her.

It’s counterintuitive, but letting her go is what she will find most attractive.

A mature, happy, self-reliant, loving man develops his own standards to live up to.

Meeting those standards is what makes him feel good about himself.

You can hold the perfect frame for feminine love to grow by creating trust, safety, connection, and leadership.

Hold those standards for yourself, then let the pieces fall where they may.

We men have to learn to trust in the processes, not the immediate results.

The fragile, fleeting, ever-changing eros love of a woman sometimes takes hold in the space we create.

    Sometimes it does not.

We create this space because of who we love to be, not because of how she responds to it.

Our intentions, values, and desires are something for us to live up to for our own sense of honor, not to win her approval.

Here’s the bottom line: The reason why good women leave good men is that her feelings changed, and thus her loyalty changed.

You can only take responsibility for your tone, vibe, and masculine energy.

The rest is up to her.

Forget Why Good Women Leave Good Men & Focus On Yourself

I teach men how to be the kind of confident, loving, grounded, emotionally available guy women feel drawn to.

Not to win the girl, but so that he can look at himself in the mirror with respect.

I show you how to be happy and think clearly, independent of what your partner throws at you.

Your state of well-being is no longer attached to her moods or fleeting desires.

Being a good man isn’t enough to maintain erotic attraction in a long-term relationship.

But a man who doesn’t lean on his wife’s emotions to feel ok about himself is.

I show you how to be more secure, so you feel back in control.

  • How Long Should You Give Your Wife Space?

How Long Should You Give Your Wife Space?

By the time you’re asking how long you should give your wife space, your marriage is suffering pretty badly. You’ve already begged, pleaded, cried, demanded, and tried to be Prince Charming. Then you watched a video that said to go full “no contact”, so you did that next. The result? You’ve become roommates. That was my experience, at least. But after working with tons of men in struggling relationships, I’ve realized you and I are not alone. Let’s talk about how to give your wife space in a way that I see working best for my clients.

How To Give Your Wife Space Without Losing Her

    How Long Is Normal?

    Meet Jeff.

Jeff is like you and me.

He’s a generally good man who cares about doing what’s right and being a great husband.

When he came to me last fall, he was in tears.

After bending over backwards to close the gap with his wife of 7 years, she only became less interested in him.

She said what most women say when they no longer feel the spark.

“I need space to find myself… I love you, but I’m not in love with you… I can’t keep doing this”.

Jeff asked me the million-dollar question: “How long should you give your wife space before things start to turn around?”

By working with countless men worldwide, I get to see the trends.

First off, EVERY man thinks his situation is unique.

But let me assure you, we’re more alike than you want to believe.

Most men don’t realize their wife has usually been moving through a predictable sequence of emotional withdrawal long before she asks for space.

I call this the Wife Wants Space Cycle.

Turns out, it’s not about how much time SHE needs, it’s how much time YOU need to fully detach and still feel amazing in yourself.

The feeling you carry that keeps counting the days since you last had sex is the feeling you’ve been acting on in your marriage for years that got you here.

But if you want to know the trends, it normally takes one month for each year you’ve known eachother for your changes to start feeling genuine and authentic to her.

Should I Give Her A Deadline?

I’ve had several clients reattract their wives and even see her start initiating sex again after he set a deadline for how long he would give her space.

But let’s look very closely at the specific men this worked for.

Greg was in his early 40’s.

He joined one of my groups, extremely frustrated by his sexless marriage and aloof wife.

He was ready to set a deadline right away.

But I advised him not to.

Why? Because he was trying to control an outcome.

When you set deadlines trying to control an outcome, your wife feels like you care more about your discomfort than hers.

Greg spent 6 months becoming a more secure, confident man.

He then spent an additional year living his best life and getting clear on his life mission.

Then, when he was totally relaxed and outcome independent, he gave his wife a deadline.

He didn’t make it sound like “he had had enough”.

He basically told her that he wanted her to be happy and would help her figure out the divorce papers in 6 weeks if she genuinely didn’t feel happy in their marriage.

    Boom.

That level of personal security and demonstration of care for her was genuine, and she felt it.

Their marriage (and sex life) did a full 180.

What To Do While She Figures Things Out

Every small interaction you have with your wife while she needs space should be a positive one.

If you’re getting into arguments, defending your feelings, or trying to convince her, you’re hitting the reset button on her need for space.

Those patterns and frustrations are the deeper things we work on together.

A man makes the most dramatic growth in his personal development in the total absence of feminine support.

It’s a rite of passage we should have gone through before we got married… But now is better than never!

Let’s resolve the scary movies in your head that keep you up at night so you can start feeling better right away.

You get to lead by example to show your wife what a happy, loving, outcome-independent man is like to be around.

Unhappy Wife – 5 Necessities To Change

Failed Expectations: A Source Of Unhappiness

We like to imagine how life would be “in a perfect world”.

“Perfect” includes a loving, sweet, affectionate, beautiful woman waiting for you at the door when you come home.

She’s wearing a sexy outfit and holding freshly baked cinnamon rolls.

Fun and laughter fill your evening with her!

By night, things get steamy under the sheets.

    Sounds like a great fantasy!

    Then there’s reality.

    She…

The girl you married has an imagined “perfect world, too”.

    Reality has dashed that dream.

That’s why your wife is always unhappy.

You’re a constant reminder that life isn’t the fairytale she hoped for.

Men I coach learn a universal fact after a few sessions: Female energy is a flood without a strong masculine frame to direct it.

In other words, if her emotions are affecting how YOU feel, it means you’re driving in her lane, not your own lane of well-being and happiness.

5 Things To Change If Your Wife Is Always Unhappy

There are five necessities for happiness:

    1. Safety
    2. Variety
    3. Connection
    4. Contribution
    5. Growth

If both you and your wife are always unhappy, you’re in a stalemate.

Somebody has to lead by example so the other can follow.

Feminine is wired to be a responder.

Masculine is wired to be an initiator.

A conversation, date night, or new house can’t erase what it’s like to BE around you.

When you start to BE different, your wife starts to respond differently.

You cannot “give” your wife safety… but you can BE safe.

You cannot “give” your wife connection… but you can BE connecting.

In other words, you provide these things by BEING them.

Explaining, demanding, and arguing about them is not BEING them.

Your wife gets to enjoy the ride as you solidify an amazing, inspiring, deeply connecting life for yourself – one that changes your attitude.

And the cool part is, you get to enjoy this life regardless of how she responds.

Even if your wife is always unhappy, it’s not your responsibility to make her happy… BUT, you can be a man who invites her to a better place.

Dr. Danielle Dowling drives this principle home in the article, “You Are Not Responsible for Other People’s Happiness“.

If you need your wife to be happy so you can be happy, you are co-dependent on her.

That’s a hard clash with what Hollywood shows us in movies.

Happiness by example is the ONLY way to light the path forward for your wife to follow.

Build an amazing life that makes you happy no matter what she does.

Feeling unsure of how to be a confident, direct, emotional lighthouse if your wife is always unhappy?

    I got you.

Menopause: What Men Need To Know To Save Their Marriage

Let’s talk about menopause: What men need to know can save a lot of frustration. This article is like receiving the puberty talk before your voice changes. It’s nice having a heads-up before everything in your life shifts. It’s also an uncomfortable topic that’s easy to put off. Further down is a video from a man who has successfully navigated menopause with his wife. Pay attention to his advice. Your marriage might depend on it.

Menopause: What Men Need To Know (But Nobody Is Saying)

At 9 years old, I loved technology.

I came across a Radio Shack ad for a control module.

It could turn on any appliance with a cord!

    I wanted one.

I saved up that summer, went to Radio Shack, and bought the control module.

    Feeling ecstatic was an understatement!

After I opened the box, I quickly realized I had been misguided.

Every outlet in the house had to be equipped with a receiver for the system to work.

    I was so bummed.

The full system was way out of budget for a 9-year-old.

Why hadn’t the salesmen at Radio Shack informed me?

Why wasn’t the ad clear that upcoming purchases were necessary to use the module?

Men sat at your wedding who knew something shocking.

They watched you pledge your love to a woman… and they stayed silent.

You thought you were signing up for a lifetime of romantic intimacy with the exact woman who stood before you.

Maybe these men didn’t want to douse the spark in your eye.

Maybe they thought they were alone in their experience.

Here’s the shocking thing these men knew: Your wife would go through an unavoidable metamorphosis and become a totally different person… Menopause!

I’m calling in an expert to give us the facts straight.

In the video below, men’s coach Charlie McKeever shares how he saved his marriage from menopause.

Menopause – What Men Need To Know (But Nobody Is Saying)

Menopause: What Men Need To Know When She Acts Different

The stages leading up to menopause can be a 10-year span called perimenopause.

For most women, perimenopause starts in their mid-40s.

You might be thinking, “So what, her period gets irregular or something?”

    Think again.

Remember how much your body changes going through puberty?

Imagine going through puberty again to have everything reversed.

That’s what it’s like for her.

Every man is well aware of how sensitive and changing a woman’s moods are when she’s on her period…

Underlying issues in your relationship she’s been sweeping under the rug boil over during this time.

Perimenopause challenges your standards, boundaries, and self-reliance to your own happiness in ways you’ve never been tested before.

She’ll need you to be confident and emotionally present, not for the weekend…FOR THE LONG HAUL!

Can Hormone Therapy Help Menopause Symptoms?

Hormone therapy can absolutely help your wife through her life transition.

So can supplements and being supportive.

If you feel like your marriage is in the throes of menopause, I encourage you to reach out to Charlie by clicking HERE. He can mentor you through the stages every man must learn while your wife goes through menopause.

Telling your wife she needs hormone therapy isn’t the magic pill.

She needs you to be the rock during this time of change.

Being a confident man who doesn’t seek his wife’s approval and leads the relationship is the type of man you should be, regardless.

    Masculine finds purpose in momentum.

We like to see progress, goals reached, and checklists completed.

When you stop reacting to your wife, she feels huge relief.

As her moods change, you need to be steady.

    You need a frame.

You need personal standards for yourself.

Menopause: What men need to know is that it’s not a matter of IF but WHEN.

Guys who have already become the rock in their relationships (before menopause strikes) won’t take her moods personally.

He won’t beg, argue, complain, or sulk when she’s having a bad day.

He’s understanding when she’s not down for sex.

He’s the lighthouse that leads her home.

That’s what a great man does for his wife.
